A Gonzaga University graduate and former CPA, Lance is a Montana native and has been a full-time resident of Big Sky since 1999. Lance began his lending career in Big Sky in 2002 and, after 3 years of learning and understanding the unique lending criteria of the many Big Sky properties, he founded Flat Rock Financial, Big Sky' s only locally owned and operated mortgage brokerage. By partnering with several of the nation' s largest and best-known lenders, as well as a handful of exclusive private mortgage banks, Flat Rock Financial is able to offer the widest array of loan products, at the most competitive rates and costs, available in Big Sky.

Lance specializes in vacation and investment property lending, condo and condotel financing, and in evaluating his clients' real estate portfolios to maximize the many benefits that purposefully-planned mortgage financing can offer.

Born and raised in Iowa, Joe' s appreciation for mountain living came from childhood ski trips to the Rockies and an overseas internship at Turoa Ski Area in New Zealand while in college. After graduating from Iowa State University, where he received his Bachelor' s Degree in business/marketing, Joe moved to Big Sky in 2002 and began working for Big Sky Resort as a Conference Coordinator. Wanting to apply the exceptional customer service skills he honed while at the resort in a more entrepreneurial endeavor, Joe began his lending career in early 2005 and, not surprisingly, quickly built a customer base of raving fans.

Joe believes that by being a constant student of the mortgage industry and financial markets he can truly contribute to his client' s financial success, regardless of whether the client is a first-time home buyer or an experienced resort property investor.

Robin Hicks

Robin Hicks, an Alabama native, has been living and working in Southwestern Montana for the past 15 years and has lived in Big Sky since 2002. Working previously in the restaurant industry, Robin's past experience has been managing large scale food operations, which demanded superior organizational and communication skills.

After joining Flat Rock Financial as Office Manager, Robin quickly brought her skills to their office environment. She handles all aspects of office management as well as assisting the mortgage consultants as the loan transaction coordinator. With an emphasis on client relations, Robin strives to ensure that the customer experience at Flat Rock Financial is the gold standard in the lending industry.
